DANCE WITH US
Audition for Pilobolus
Pilobolus is looking for dancers to fill traditionally female and male roles with strong athleticism, theatrical physicality, and partnering skills who are willing to bare it all—sometimes even literally—on the stage or even in the woods! Boldness, curiosity, and a deep desire for creative collaboration are coveted.
Dancers will also create new work with peers and outside collaborators and engage in teaching opportunities with movers of all ages and abilities.
Requirements and notes:
Dancers must be eligible to work for a US-based employer
The company is based in and rehearses in Washington, CT.
Must be willing and capable of traveling domestically and internationally for performances
Contract: Typically 36-week employment contract. Start dates based on position offered and dancer availability.
HOW TO AUDITION
Our audition process will run in three phases: 1) first round video audition; 2) callback in NYC or LA; and 3) final callback in Washington, CT for those who make it through phases 1 and 2. After each phase, we will contact all auditionees for next steps. Please read below for information about the process and associated dates and deadlines.
FIRST ROUND VIDEO AUDITIONS:
Submission deadline: Feb 23, 2026
Step 1. Review and learn this short movement phrase.
Step 2. Record one video that includes: you dancing this phrase AND 30 seconds of unedited improvisation AND 3 silly walks. State and spell your full name at the beginning of the video. (We are not looking at production value, please use any means of recording in any location.)
Step 3. Upload your video to Vimeo or YouTube. Create a sharable link to include on your application form.
Step 4. Complete the application form. You must include your headshot, resume/CV, and video link.

SECOND ROUND CALLBACK - NYC or LA:
Dancers invited to return for the second round audition will be informed on March 2, 2026 if they have been selected. Second round auditions will be held in two separate locations for your convenience.

THIRD ROUND CALLBACK:
Date: March 31, 2026
Location: Washington, CT
Dancers selected for our final auditioning phase will be informed by the end of the day of their second-round callback. At that time, they will receive specific timing information for getting to CT. Travel costs via Metro-North to Brewster Station are the responsibility of the auditionee; Pilobolus will provide pickup at Brewster Station and return to Brewster Station following the third-round callback.
